EXP Alum Elizabeth Gives Back
Dear friends of EXP,
All it takes is one opportunity.
That’s what EXP provided me, an opportunity to learn about job skills. An opportunity to explore college and career. An opportunity to reach my full potential.
That one opportunity led me to a career in engineering and a leadership position in the Wilmington community as a small business owner and an EXP board member.
I am sincerely grateful for everything the EXP family has done for me. Thank you for supporting my success and the success of EXP students past and present.
I joined the EXP family as a junior at Phineas Banning High School, participating in the Internship Program. The program workshops helped me create a resume, taught me how to interview and present myself professionally, and prepared me for a successful summer internship with the Port Police. As a first-generation student, navigating college and career options was challenging. EXP helped me build my confidence and motivation to apply for college. I successfully applied and attended CSU Maritime Academy (Cal Maritime), graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering in 2014.
My success was only possible with the support of the EXP family. Now is the time for our family to come together to support the next generation of EXP students.
Please consider a gift today. Your donation is critical to ensure EXP has the opportunity to continue to impact the personal and professional future of youth in our communities.
As an EXP alum, I believe in giving back to the community that supported me. This is why I give my time, talent, and treasure as an EXP board member.
Join me in giving back to an organization that has done so much for our community. Every dollar makes a difference.
With gratitude,
Elizabeth Machuca
