Your Support Fuels Opportunity
A Message from EXP Alum and Stanford Graduate Frances Suavillo
All it takes is one opportunity.
That’s what EXP gave me; an opportunity to explore college and career options. An opportunity to connect to my community. An opportunity to reach my full potential.
That one opportunity has led me to leadership positions in high school and college and to pursue my passion for education. My success was only possible with the support of the EXP family.
I joined the EXP family as a sophomore at Carson High School, participating in GPS Your Future® Career Discovery Day and attending in-class guest speaker sessions. The Internship Program workshops taught me the skills I needed to present myself professionally at a young age.
With the skills and confidence I gained from EXP programs, I was able to branch out and expand my community. I graduated from Stanford University this past June and was named one of the 2022 Obama-Chesky Voyager fellows. This was made possible by the support of two EXP scholarships: the Glenn F. Dupree Memorial Scholarship for students from Carson High School and the Julia T. Nagano Memorial Scholarship for students interested in public service.
I am sincerely grateful for everything you and EXP have done for me and my family. Now is the time for us to come together with our EXP family and support the next generation of students! Students like my brother, Felix Suavillo, who received the Chris Gutierrez Memorial Scholarship last spring and graduated from Carson High School this past summer.
Please consider a gift today. Your donation is critical to ensuring students have access to EXP programs that prepare them for college and careers. Every dollar makes a difference!
I know the EXP family will always be there for me as I embark on my exciting new career and pursue a Ph.D. in education at USC. Please join me in giving back to EXP, the organization that has done so much for me, my family, and my community.
With gratitude,
Frances Suavillo
